A Documentary by The Publicity Team, AFSS, Lagos
Before the Beginning
The Apostolic Faith Secondary School is the brainchild of the Apostolic Faith Church, Africa region, under the leadership of the then African Overseer, Rev. Paul Ogechukwu Akazue, who felt divinely inspired to open a school that will focus on both academic and spiritual excellence of students. Upon several consultations and with approval from the church’s world headquarters in Portland, Oregon, USA, there was a Teachers’ Round Table Conference on April 6, 2002. At this conference, Ms. Busola Osidipe, a retired government school principal and the Apostolic Faith Sunday School Superintendent of the Elementary Department, was named the first substantive principal of AFSS, Anthony, and Mrs. Dupe Abe was appointed as her deputy.
In the beginning
AFSS, Anthony started with a student population of 79 students, with three JSS 1 arms: JSS 1 A, JSS 1 B, and JSS 1 C, and one JSS 2 arm: JSS 2 A. It had a total staff population of 14 teachers, 15 non-teaching staff, the Principal, and her Vice.

He was succeeded by the new District Superintendent of Apostolic Faith Church in WECA, Rev Emmanuel Adeniran,
The current school’s proprietor is Rev. Isaac Adigun, who assumed this office upon his ascension to the post of District Superintendent in late 2021.

Also, the school at present runs a system of both the junior and senior schools headed by the head of schools, who are equally under the leadership of the school’s principal. The schools are run independently of each other.

The school currently boasts of a student population of 571, 180 staff members, effectively run junior and senior schools, a modern ICT laboratory, and an e-library that the school continues to make efforts to update to be among the very best in the world of education.
The school understands the need for constant evolvement and development and strives for ways to improve, knowing that nothing good can be achieved without God’s input. Therefore, best efforts will continue to be put into raising academically sound children who are God-fearing and upright in dealings. The founder’s vision of raising young and vibrant men for Christ can never and will never die.
